Samantha Spano has made country cool at the Jersey Shore. Nicknamed “The Coastal Cowgirl”, she brings a Northeastern edginess to legendary venues across the country. She was introduced to stages of all kinds at the ripe age of seven with a voice far beyond her years. As she grew into that voice, she drew influence from the legends like Johnny Cash, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, and Reba McEntire while writing about classic country heartbreak with a side of “independent young woman”.
With a passion for country music, she was dead set on being the face of country music at the Jersey Shore and beyond. She surrounded herself with music at just five years old taking up piano lessons at her local music school and starting guitar lessons by the age of eight. She released her self-titled EP at the age of thirteen which included three original songs entirely written and arranged by Samantha herself. Throughout her teens, she found herself performing at elementary school assemblies, local coffee shops, and in the summers, legendary Nashville venues like BB King’s, The Local, and the Ford Theater. At sixteen, she was accepted into a songwriting camp hosted by the Country Music Hall of Fame, where the foundation was set. Fresh out of high school, she spent a summer recording on Music Row and released a string of singles throughout 2021 and 2022. These singles gave listeners, young and old, a glimpse into the life of a real-life “Hannah Montana” as she struggled with love, lust, and growing up. Three of these singles were turned into music videos that were written and directed by Spano.
Her string of singles recorded in Nashville landed her opening gigs for Adam Doleac, Tucker Wetmore, and Myron Elkins, as well as a set at Barefoot Country Music Festival for two consecutive years. Her most recent single, “GUNSLINGER!” has raked in thousands of views over social media platforms and has fans buzzing over its rowdiness and controversy, as its lyrics are just as confident and cryptic as Samantha herself.
Spano brings an immeasurable amount of energy and relatability through her performances, whether she is rocking out with her band of Jersey natives cleverly entitled “The Urban Cowboys” or telling the story behind a song while casually strumming her 12-string guitar. Either way, Samantha Spano knows how to command an audience with a stage presence that cannot be taught.
Since graduating from college with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Samantha has relocated to Nashville, where she works with BMI to create new opportunities for young songwriters. Now an accomplished singer, songwriter, performer, and businesswoman, she brings her powerhouse vocals, flawless stage presence, and endless amounts of fringe and rhinestones to stages across the country.
