Motownphilly… on the Beach: A Night of Surprises, Soul & Philly Pride

At Barefoot, we love country music. That’s no secret.

But every year, we throw in a curveball—something unexpected, unforgettable, and a little outside the lines. Because great music isn’t just a sound… it’s a feeling. And if you were anywhere near Wildwood Beach the night Boyz II Men showed up, you felt it.

The surprises began long before the main stage lights ever came on.

Earlier that day, tucked away from the spotlight in one of our favorite intimate corners of the fest, a buzz started to build at the Southern Rounds pop-up performance. Fans who followed the music found themselves face-to-face with something special: Boyz II Men, stepping into an unplugged set that felt more like a front porch jam session than a festival show.

No big production. Just stripped-down harmonies, raw soul, and storytelling that reminded everyone why these Philly legends are the best to ever do it. The kind of magic you only get when you’re in the right place, at the right time… and at the right festival.

And then came nightfall.

As the sun dipped low and the sky turned golden, over 40,000 fans filled the beach as Boyz II Men took the Coors Light Main Stage. And for a few shining hours, Wildwood transformed into Motownphilly.

It wasn’t just the songs—though “End of the Road” and “I’ll Make Love to You” felt like a warm wave of nostalgia rolling in with the tide. It was the moment. It was the pride. It was Philly—loud, proud, and showing up strong.

And when we say we go all in, we mean it.

Together with the Philadelphia Eagles, we raised $20,000 for the Eagles Autism Foundation, surrounded by players, cheerleaders, and fans who bled green under the Barefoot sky. The Eagles drumline lit up the stage, and when two Super Bowl trophies were hoisted into the air, the roar from the crowd echoed all the way to Broad Street.

It was wild.

It was electric.

It was home.

For so many of our fans, Philly isn’t just a place—it’s a feeling. It’s where soul meets swagger. Where brotherly love means something. And having Boyz II Men, Philly’s favorite sons, on our beach wasn’t just a surprise… it was a love letter to the city that raised them—and the fans who’ve been singing along ever since.

Because that’s what Barefoot is all about.

We honor our country. We celebrate country music. But we also celebrate you—where you’re from, what you stand for, and the joy of seeing your story come to life on a stage in the sand.

Boyz II Men didn’t just perform. They reminded us that even on the beach… Philly always shows up.

From quiet harmonies at a pop-up to Super Bowl trophies under the stars—this wasn’t just a performance.

This was a moment.

And this one?

This one’s for Philly.
